Go back in time to enjoy a pleasant ride along the savanna, making an entrance to the phenomenal salt cathedral in Zipaquira in order to later arrive at Cajica and enjoy a pleasant traditional lunch. Free of traffic and sharing awesome views, this all inclusive tour running only during weekends is far away from a typical bus or car ride.
Tour starts at 7 AM when you are collected personally at your hotel by your private bilingual guide, heading then towards the train station in order to get ready for departure. After making a quick stop at Usaquen station, tour departs to Zipaquira on a short trip for just a couple of hours passing by phenomenal sceneries of the country side. Once at the salt cathedral, group has 1 hour and 30 minutes to take a walk inside and discover spectacular temples built several feet under.
In the afternoon time, train departs to Cajica village just a few minutes away. Given the nature of this cozy town, there is enough time to enjoy and walk around for photos or to maybe just sample some of the local treats. There are bathrooms, cafeterias and souvenir shops so please bring Colombian pesos because not all stores take credit cards.
At 3 pm, steam train heads back to Bogota on a couple of hours trip that you will definitely enjoy all along. Once at Bogota, your bilingual guide will escort you back to your hotel by private vehicle.
